MY ALLSTATE HORROR STORY

My story is probably not the worst, but it is still horrible to me! I am a 22 year old single mother of a 2 year old, I work full time, and go to school full time. A car I had for a couple of years died on me so I asked my Grandfather to co-sign a loan for a newer car, $4,500, and he gladly helped! We got a cute little Subaru at a local dealership and I was happy!
Then one day on my way to pick up my daughter a guy in a truck hit me (TOTALLY his fault, he was not paying attention to anything) and completely smashed in the back of my car! So we both filed claims with our insurance companies - and after about a month of waiting for Allstate to get back to me they offered me $2,000 for my car! A month after I bought a car for $4500 they offered me $2000! It was worth more than that, and I wish I had money to fight them. They also offered me $15 dollars for a computer that was ruined in the accident (my only means of completing homework assignments) - give me a break.
So my way of fighting back is I write a letter to every executive and board member at Allstate (barf) once a month and also have gotten about 2 dozen cars in CO to put my stickers on their cars! They say "AllstateInsuranceSucks.com, Their hands...Your pockets" and also color coordinated with the vehicle that displays them. I tell everyone I know how horrible Allstate is - strangers, friends, whoever... (Also, with the letters I send, every so often they send me a letter back offering me another couple hundred dollars...)
"There is no incentive for insurance companies to do what is right, such as live up to the promises made in their policies. Tort reformers fueled by insurance money think big business and the insurance industry need to be protected against "runaway juries." It's the other way around. Big business and the insurance industry have always been able to take care of themselves. The little people need protection from them. This country was founded on the common law right of the little guy to get into court with his hired gun to fight the oppressor, be it big government or big business. Take that away and we have nothing left. Look around. It's being whittled away, bit by bit, caps on damages here, restrictions on jury trials there. It won't end until we recognize the enemy and join together to take a stand against them. It will take the little people to do this together".
